About

Neuroengineering is a rising discipline that applies engineering techniques to study, restore, replace and strengthen neural systems. This interaction between medical research and engineering has the potential to achieve significant progress in the understanding and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases as well as in the development of brain-connected prosthetics. The Technical University Gheorghe Asachi in Iasi (TUIASI) is a strong research and higher education centre in engineering fields and is part of the North East Regional Innovative Cluster for Structural and Molecular Imaging. The EU-funded BrainTwin project increases networking activities and supports TUIASI in developing a new centre for research and education by strengthening its scientific and technological capacity. The project connects TUIASI with leading research institutions from Germany and Spain and secures knowledge transfer from Austria and Germany.
